Education is one of the most powerful tools to break the cycle of poverty, yet in South Africa, thousands of children start the school year without the most basic supplies they need to succeed. Dropout rates remain heartbreakingly high, and too often, children are forced to leave school simply because they do not have the resources to keep up.

That’s why the Busisa Foundation is committed to stepping in with our 2nd Annual Back to School Event in KwaZulu Natal. This January 2026, we plan to provide 600–800 backpacks filled with essential school supplies, along with a warm meal, to children from disadvantaged communities.

In January 2025, we hosted our first-ever Back to School event in KwaZulu Natal, and the impact was incredible. Children left with not only the tools they needed but also hope and encouragement to pursue their education. In 2026, we want to make this event twice as big, reaching even more students who need our support.
